ModVans 2nd Row Modular Seating System

It’s tough to justify the expense and space of a dedicated camping vehicle. ModVans' modular seating system allows you to add and remove seats. When seats are removed, the floor is completely flat. This makes it possible to use the van as an RV, the ultimate family hauler or a work truck capable of swallowing 4x8 sheets of plywood and thousands of pounds of tools and building materials.

The modular seats (sold separately from this mounting system) are luxurious captain's chairs. Unlike most RV seats, our rear seats swivel and slide, are constructed to automotive industry safety standards, have real 3 point seat belts, child seat anchors and are anchored to the van's frame with strong, automotive grade mounting plates and fasteners.

Seat Configurations

This product is a mounting plate and other parts that allows you to mount up to 3 individual modular seats in the 2nd row. Our 3rd Row Modular Seating System (sold separately) can add up to 3 additional seats for a total of 5 modular seats (7 passengers total, including 1st row).

Our captain's chair style seats (sold separately) come in small, medium and large size. All seats slide and swivel, have 3 point seat belts and child seat attachments. The large and medium seats have armrests. The small seat does not have armrests and is intended to fit between two large or two medium seats on the 2nd row.

You can add 1st row seat swivels (sold separately) and Lagun mounts with tables (sold separately) to create modular dinettes and work areas.

With 1st row swivels, tables and both our 2nd and 3rd Row Modular Seating Systems installed, you can have dinette seating for up to 6 and seat up to 7 passengers total.

The seats come in gray or black synthetic leather that is very soft yet durable and easy to clean.

The seats are heavy and there are 5 bolts that hold each seat in place.
The mounting pattern is the same for all seat sizes but the allowed configurations depends on seat size (two large seats cannot fit next to each other).

ModVans Floor System

In conjunction with our modular seating system, we have a flooring system used in our RVs. The typical layers of this system are, from top to bottom:

- CNC cut high quality, attractive vinyl with holes and plugs for the 5 2nd and 3rd row seat positions.
- CNC cut plywood to give a nice flat floor and allow mounting of modular furniture using T-nuts
- CNC cut polyisocyanurate insulation. This layer provides great thermal insulation and is carved to sit flat over the van floor ribs and seat mounting plates.
